जिनपतिसूरिविरचितः

श्रीश्रीपुरपार्श्वनाथस्तवः

This devotional composition, consisting of sixteen verses, is dedicated to Lord Pārśvanātha, the 23rd Tīrthaṅkara of Jainism. The stava describes the divine presence of Lord Pārśvanātha in Śrīpura (Modern day Shirpur, Washim, Maharashtra, India). Each verse beautifully captures different aspects of the Lord's glory, from his physical appearance to his ability to grant liberation from worldly sufferings.

The composition is particularly significant as it not only serves as a devotional hymn but also provides historical insights into the worship of Pārśvanātha in Shirpur.
Jinavallabhasūri's grand-disciple Jinapatisūri who flourished during late 12th century C. E. is regarded as the composer of this stava.

O Pārśvanātha! O Lord of the Jinas! I praise you who manifested in the city of Śrīpura, whose heart shines like a necklace of radiant liberation-lotus, a brilliant abode protecting the world.
स्वामिन्! निर्मलवाकुलाकणगणैर्निमाप्य सम्पूजिता राज्ञा श्रीखरदूषणेन भवतः श्रीपार्श्व! मूर्तिः पुरा।

O Pārśvanātha! O Master! Long ago, your image was worshipped by the king Khara and Dūṣaṇa, made from fine gravel grains. Later, King Śrīpāla installed that same pure idol in Śrīpura, and today, by good fortune, I have seen it.
स्वामिन्! नम्रामरनरपते! स्नात्रमात्राम्भसा तेऽद्याऽपि प्रोच्चैः पुर इह दृशो दीप्यते दीप्रदीपः।

O Lord worshipped by kings and gods! Even today, your eyes shine brightly like radiant lamps, blessed by the water of the ceremonial bath (snātra). Just by touching it, all diseases vanish and fortune arises in abundance.

In this terrible time of Kali Yuga, where all grandeur fades and the world is filled with mlecchas and sins, O Jinapati! When your idol is seen in the sky, who would not, with wonder-filled eyes, be uplifted with devotion?

O son of Vāmā! O Lord! You are like a wish-fulfilling gem granting desires of all three worlds, a treasure of pure, brilliant knowledge. O Master! Lead away the enemies like passion who dwell in my heart and bring misfortune, for I long for the wealth of your feet.

On seeing you who destroys all inner and outer afflictions—mental torment, disease, fever, leprosy, passion, delusion, false belief—I feel that even Dhanvantari must have retreated in shame.

O mighty Lord! Protect me now from falling into this vast ocean of saṃsāra, where beings suffer, seized by the fierce crocodiles of passion, hatred, and defilements, and are tormented by their cries born of evil karma.

O auspicious Pārśva, Lord of the Universe! Your hoods adorned with moving jewels scatter moonlight rays and dispel darkness; your radiance like the blue lotus petals—shine upon us the supreme good!

O Jinapati! Having seen you, it seems as if I have received the wish-fulfilling pitcher, the divine cow has come to my home, the wish-fulfilling gem has been received in my hands due to course of long auspicious deeds, and I have copious attained sovereignty over the state of all three worlds which brings complete delight.

O Lord! With the sight of your lotus-like face, may all the sins I have committed through impure thoughts, words, and deeds be instantly destroyed.

श्रीपार्श्व! विश्वत्रयबान्धवस्त्वं लेभे लसत्पोतसमः स्वपुण्यैः॥१२
O Pārśva! While aimlessly drifting in the vast, impassable ocean of saṃsāra, I have found you—the boat-like friend of the three worlds—through my own merit.

Today, due to the complete ripening of my past merits, which even those born in great lineages had not earned, I have been blessed to behold the Jina with my own eyes.

O Lord! The eyes that saw you have been sanctified; the speech that praised your virtues has become clear; the hands that worshipped you are fulfilled; and the mind that meditated on you is pure.

O Jinapati! Today, all karmas bringing cruel suffering are destroyed, and my merits have revealed themselves. Indeed, the auspicious fortune from bowing to your feet has awakened.

O Śrīmat Pārśvanātha! Like a forehead jewel on the land of Śrīpura, like a moon-faced Jina who has destroyed all sins—you have been praised by me, my head bowed in devotion. Please grant me the noble path to worship your lotus feet.
